Who wouldn’t want their favorite tiki bar to be on the Pacific Ocean and part of a motel and with a heated indoor pool? If you answered yes, then Pantleys’ Pagan Hut was your spot. Located in Depoe Bay, Oregon, Pantley’s was a classic with the bamboo, thatch, nightly entertainment, and an elaborate cocktail menu. Opened in the 1950s, Pantley’s was originally the Pupule Lanai, and later became the Surfpoint Inn. The cocktail menu featured drinks like the Flaming Virgin for $4.50, “a fiery kiss and eternal bliss. Drink one you’ll believe, drink 2 you take a dive”. Or the Aloha for $1.25. Goodbye or Hello …it depends on you.
In 1977 the property, no longer The Pagan Hut, was seriously damaged by a series of storms that hit the Oregon Coast.
