The Castaways was a 10 acre resort complex located in Sunny Isles Florida. It was everything “FUNderful” in one location. Hotel, private beach, night club, health club, with fishing, heated pools, activities for kids, restaurants, a parrot with a salty vocabulary, and lively cocktail bars and lounges.
The Wreck Bar had a shipwreck theme and the Tahitian Bar featured mixologist Stan the Great who was known for his collection of Hawaiian shirts and the ability to balance a tower of drinks on his head. The Castaways resort hired young entertainers like Ike and Tina Turner, and attracted celebrities like Lenny Bruce, Frank Sinatra and the Beatles.
