Cirals' House of Tiki was a landmark located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago. For 33 years, the bar was known for their large multi colored neon sign, tropical but dark interior, bright orange tiki buttons which originated in 1967 with the slogan “There will always be Tiki” and of course strong cocktails. Their Zombie was served in a naked lady glass, had 7 shots and you were only allowed to order 1. They were open until 4:00 am, and served everyone from University students to Scottie Pippen to rival gangs, and even made an appearance in a few movies.
Regulars said Cirals' House of Tiki was their “Cheers” and when owner Ted Cirals and his wife decided to take an offer they couldn’t refuse, they left a lot of broken tiki hearts behind when they closed for good in October of 2000.
